Expert (4)	I used essential questions to guide my reading, research and learning. I created extensive notes answering these questions before I began my performances.	My performances thoroughly answer all of the essential questions. They demonstrate a thorough understanding of my topic. All of my ideas are thoroughly explained, organized and connected.	My performances demonstrate strong connections between my life as a colonist and the essential questions. My strong voice can be heard in my performances.	My performances demonstrate that I took the audience into account. All my ideas are clear and easily understood. I talked often with others and revised my work to make sure I was communicating clearly.	I logically presented my answers to all of the essential questions. I demonstrated passion for my work and used my time well. I spoke clearly and fluently and maintained eye contact with the audience as much as possible.
Practitioner (3)	I used essential questions to guide my reading, research and learning. I created adequate notes answering these questions before I began my performances.	My performances adequately answer all of the essential questions. They demonstrate an adequate understanding of my topic. Most of my ideas are explained, organized and connected.	My performances demonstrate adequate connections between my life as a colonist and the essential questions. My voice can be heard in my performances. I rarely talked with others and revised my work to make sure I was communicating clearly.	I did not introduce myself and my topic well. I did not logically present my answers to the essential questions. I demonstrated little passion for my work and did not use my time well. I did not speak clearly and fluently and rarely made eye contact with the audience.
